October Employee Spotlight

Each month we recognize an employee for their growth & continued success at GFI Digital. For the month of October we spotlighted one of our Managed Print Service Analysts.

Meet Jen Welch, MPS Analyst in St. Louis, MO. Jen celebrated her 7th year with the company in June and we decided to ask her some fun interview questions that attribute to her success and growth with us.

We caught up with her and this is what she had to say:

1. What is the most rewarding part of your job here at GFI Digital?

Knowing that I am a part of a company that values their employees and customers is probably the most rewarding part of my job. I am always so proud when I talk MPS and GFI with current or prospective customers, because I know that it isn’t just fluff that I am saying to help sell the account. I believe in this company and the program and what we can truly deliver to the customer. When my Teams or Sales Reps win, I feel like I have won..

2. What was the first job you’ve ever had? And How old were you?

For my first job, I was 15 and I worked at Kmart in their sporting goods department. Yep, I sold hunting and fishing licenses. Something that to this day I know nothing about.

3. What is your favorite line from a movie?

To me this is a very relatable quote. In your personal life or professional life, it is how you handle the punches. “Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life, but it ain’t how hard you can hit. It’s how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It’s how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.”– Rocky, from Rocky Balboa . My second favorite is “You got to Risk It to get the Biscuit” from Fired Up.

4. If you could choose anyone in time, dead or alive to be your mentor who would you pick & why?

I would have to say Reba McEntire. She is amazing woman, with a heart as big as the universe. She is faith and family driving and has worked hard for all that she has achieved

5. What is the first concert you attended?

My first concert was Alabama at some sort of balloon fest.

Here is what her Manager had to say about her:

“Jen is extraordinarily dedicated to every aspect of her job, she takes total ownership of the accounts she manages & works day in & day out with her sales reps to find net new business & manage her current accounts. Jen does an impressive job managing her time in the office & on the road considering she supports reps across six branches.” –Matt Schuler, Director of Service & Operations
